FAQs
Creating a peaceful, organized space starts with clarity. Below you’ll find answers to common questions about our services and what to expect when working with Peaceful Spaces LLC. Click on any question to expand it and view the answer.
How does the decluttering and organizing process work?
First, we will schedule a consultation to talk about your goals and the space that you want transformed. I will ask you a lot of questions about your lifestyle so I know how best to serve you. I may ask for photos to help me understand your goals better.
Next we will schedule either a walk through consultation or a decluttering session depending on your goals and the scale of your space.
During a decluttering session, we start by dividing your items in to categories, to donate, sell, recycle, throw away, etc. Next we will sort into categories to organize your items.
Typically, the organizing and adding organizing products happens in the next session unless your area is a very small space.
Is there a fee for a consultation?
A 15-minute virtual consultation is free of charge. If you prefer an in-home consultation, there’s a $100 fee, which covers a walk-through and an initial assessment of your space. You’ll also receive a customized plan outlining everything needed to transform your space, from decluttering strategies to storage solutions and maintenance tips.
How much do you charge for your services?
The cost depends on the size of your project and your goals. After our initial consultation, I’ll provide a quote for your customized plan. I usually work in 3-hour blocks for $200, with additional hours billed at $75 each. Clients cover the cost of any organizing products plus an extra 10% for the time spent shopping. Alternatively, I can suggest products for clients to purchase themselves.
Should I tidy up before you come to organize my space?
No need to do anything before I arrive. It’s actually better if you don’t tidy up, so I can see how to best help you transform your space to suit your lifestyle.
Will you be taking photos of my space?
Photos are essential for creating a plan and providing a base template to guide the transformation of your space. Before and after shots are a great way to showcase the changes. While pictures may be used for marketing purposes, clients’ personal information is always kept confidential.
What happens to the items I declutter?
Your items will be donated to a site near me or during my travels. I can take one carload of donations per session, and a donation receipt is available upon request. Specific organizations can be arranged for an additional fee.
When is payment required?
To book an appointment, a 50% deposit is required. You can pay by credit card through my website, Venmo, or check. The rest of the payment is due at the end of each session.
What is your refund policy?
Cancellations made 48 hours or more before your scheduled session are eligible for a full refund or a complimentary reschedule.
Cancellations made within 48 hours of your appointment will forfeit the deposit, as that time has been reserved exclusively for you.
